String Beads Activity

Stringing beads is an elementary skill that many demented patients can still do, and, because it is highly repetitive and routine, it occupies their minds for some time. It is also mildly challenging and stimulates thought and activity. Also helps to preserve hand-eye coordination. These beads are extra-jumbo size, so it is very easy for weak hands to hold them. The holes in the beads are also extra large so they can easily be laced onto the cotton string. The kit shown has 30 brightly-colored wooden beads of various sizes and shapes and has two rugged cotton laces, 36 inches long. All these are stored in a 10 inch high tube, when not in use. Makes an excellent activity.
